I continue experimenting with a variety of cameras and films including alternative processes from the 1800s. In addition to digital photography, a significant volume of my work happens in my dark room, where I experiment with various chemical combinations to reach a unique aesthetic. My work continually evolves as I seek new ways to photograph both people and repurposed objects. What I love about the art of photography is that images can produce dialogue and the viewers contemplate and experience the images in their own way. After many years working as a photographer and teaching artist, I am certain that collaborating with the community and sharing my knowledge with the next generation of potential artists and photographers will remain a key component of my mission. My true passion is to expose the community to the arts and to teach them how to use photography as well as video, as a means of expression, empowerment, and a tool for social engagement and change.
